Most PDF edits are small: add a date, type a note, drop in a logo, fix a typo, blank out an old phone number. A full desktop editor is overkill for that, and most online editors want you to upload the document first.
Step by step
- Open the tool. Go to pdfmerger.io/edit-pdf.
- Add your PDF. Every page opens in the editor.
- Pick a tool: Text, Image, Whiteout, Highlight, Rectangle, Ellipse, Line or Draw. Click or drag on the page to use it.
- Adjust. Use Select to move, resize, recolor or delete anything you added. Undo is always one click away.
- Click "Save PDF". The edited file downloads.
What you can add
- Text in any language, in three fonts, any size, five colors, regular or bold.
- Images such as a logo, a stamp or a picture of your signature (PNG or JPG).
- Whiteout to cover something with a clean white box.
- Highlights, rectangles, ellipses, lines and freehand drawing for markup.
Changing text that is already there
PDFs don't store text in editable paragraphs the way Word does, so the reliable way to change a word is to cover it with Whiteout and type the new word on top in a matching size. On screen and on paper it looks as if the original was changed.
Important
Whiteout hides content visually, but the covered text is still inside the file and can be copied out. To remove names, numbers or anything confidential for good, use Redact PDF instead.
Will it look the same everywhere?
Yes. Your additions are written into the page itself, so they show the same in every reader and print exactly as you see them, including on landscape and rotated pages. Latin-script text stays real, selectable text.
