Pages end up in the wrong order all the time. The scanner fed them back to front, someone appended the cover at the end, or a blank page slipped into the middle of a report. Fixing it should not need Acrobat.
Step by step
- Open the tool. Go to pdfmerger.io/organize-pdf.
- Add your PDF. Every page appears as a thumbnail in a grid.
- Drag pages into place. Pick up a thumbnail and drop it where it belongs. On a phone, use the arrows under each page instead.
- Rotate, duplicate or delete. Each thumbnail has buttons to turn it 90°, make a copy or remove it.
- Click "Save PDF". Your reorganized document downloads.
Handy shortcuts
- Reverse order flips the whole document in one click, perfect for scans fed in back to front.
- Reset brings back the original order if you want to start over.
- Add PDF brings in pages from other files. Each source gets a letter, so you can tell them apart while you mix them.
No quality loss
Pages are copied exactly as they are, not re-rendered. Text stays selectable and searchable, links keep working inside the page, and images are not recompressed. The file you save is as sharp as the one you opened.
Private by design
The pages are rearranged inside your browser with pdf-lib. Your document is never uploaded, so this is safe for contracts, statements and medical records.
When to use a different tool
- Only need to delete a few pages? Remove Pages is quicker.
- Only need to fix sideways pages? Rotate PDF.
- Joining whole files end to end? Merge PDF keeps it to one step.
- Pulling a range of pages into a new file? Split PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a page limit?
No fixed limit. Because everything happens on your device, very large documents depend on its memory, but a few hundred pages are fine on most computers.
Can I do this on an iPhone or Android?
Yes. Use the arrow buttons under each page to move it earlier or later, since dragging small thumbnails on a touch screen is fiddly.
